Here's something every traveler needs to know about European Union embassies and their rules… One important Embassy requirement before you can obtain a visa is that you provide a Visa letter from the insurance company which should clearly state the amount of coverage, the type of coverage, the amount of the deductible and that you are covered in the country you are visiting. Most embassies do not accept an email or fax copies of the Visa letter or insurance documents, and you will need to show them your original insurance documents and Visa letter.

France, Germany and Austria are some of the countries that only accept original documents. On average, a person will visit the embassy 3 to 4 times before they are able to obtain the information they need in order to obtain a valid, Visa.
